Yeah, and so far I am not seeing any feedback from it. Like Oh Boy!! Was my toaster bacon burger ever good along with my onion rings. I just see how inconvienient it is for people to drive from 1 side of town to the other. If thats all they have to complain about they should just shut up and try walking.

Posted by: Anonymous on Feb 2, 2009 at 12:18 PM
Lot's of complaining about something being on one side of town or another, but no one saying "sure glad there's one in town". If you want one in a certain place, open one.

Posted by: BACON BOMB on Feb 1, 2009 at 09:47 PM
That and I could also go for the "bacon Explosion" or "Bacon Bomb" Take 1 pound bacon and make a "weave" or lattice, lay it flat. Then 2 pounds Italian sausage lay it flat ontop of bacon. Then 1 more pound already cooked bacon ontop of sausage and roll it up to a "log" shape. Bake slowly in a layered reynolds wrap pan, 275 degrees until done. Can bake 3-5 hrs. or longer. Then put BBQ sauce on top. Slice and put on a bisquit, or kaiser roll. (This is not traveling on dieters terrain)

I think they should just put up an Italian deli. Make sandwiches with soprassata. Hot and mild both with provolone cheese, and mortadella. Boy! I'm gettin hungry!

Ehh Bob i think you best check around i do believe there is a RED LOBSTER on the west side. Besides Red Lobster,Cracker Barrel and Texas Roadhouse are NOT on the same par as Sonic,Culvers etc. We do need more east side where the ave guy lives and works vs the west side where the stuck up snobs live and where is it more overpriced

Posted by: Duh Location: Sun Prairie on Jan 30, 2009 at 12:56 PM
BOB - Steak n Shake is closed, as is Country Kitchen, and Tumbleweed. The east side could use some new blood.

Posted by: Fat Location: Madison on Jan 30, 2009 at 10:40 AM
Great... another reason for my fellow residents to get.... FAT!

Posted by: BOB Location: Madison West on Jan 30, 2009 at 12:25 AM
How can you people on the East Side Complain? You have many things the West Side does not have (Fizolis??spell check please, Steak n Shake, Texas Road House, Cracker Barrel, Red Lobster, and many others. Let's see if you can name more? Why does it always have to be a rivalry?

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 29, 2009 at 08:51 AM
Everyone that complains about oh boy! another fast food joint, being realistic, do you actually think people would go out to a place that only makes salads? there is no market for a 5 star restraunt. And selling different types of burgers I'm sure they were looking into what is going to stay in buisness and not close in a year like the Krispy Kreme in Green Bay.It may have been a little over a year, but not much more than that. So, with that being said a triple with cheese, cheese curds and the diet coke please!

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 29, 2009 at 06:35 AM
Yippee, just another fast food joint, just what we need.

Posted by: Albert Location: Waunakee on Jan 28, 2009 at 10:24 AM
awesome finally we get one of the best fast food restraunts in the country. Now culvers will have a littl ecompetation for good food and ice cream

Posted by: P Location: Madison on Jan 28, 2009 at 09:17 AM
RE Aldae....I would gladly "slump through" sheperds pie over Sonic...

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 27, 2009 at 09:15 PM
Sheperds pie sounds good. But I think there would be a bottle of ketchup nearby just in case.

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 27, 2009 at 06:53 PM
Actually right now I could go for some fried giblets. That with some ranch dressing and a few peppers.

Posted by: Aldae Location: Madison on Jan 27, 2009 at 03:01 PM
So are they open? Or do I have to slump through a another evening of my wife's Sheperds Pie...

Posted by: P Location: Madison on Jan 27, 2009 at 02:10 PM
clog my arteries even more please.........

Posted by: JC Location: madison on Jan 27, 2009 at 12:27 PM
wow. ya'll are way to concerned with fast food. perhaps this is why this country is so fat.

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 27, 2009 at 11:35 AM
@9:17a.m. Well Michele I'm quite sure everyone appreciates the fact you got the lowdown from 1 of the owners. Needless to say I'll sleep so much better tonight. Thank you.

Seriously? You people are complaining about driving from one side of town to the other for a chain restaurant (or a LOT of them?)... yikes... Read your thread-o-whines below and see how ridiculous you sound. I have to admit - I do enjoy their commercials sometimes and found them mildly entertaining and have been intrigued by Sonic - but if all I had to do was drive from one side of Madison to the other to find a decent restaurant (none of the chains mentioned, by the way) - I'd love it. Many people who live in outlying communities drive much further than you have to in order to get a taste of 'civilization' - so quit whining. By the way - I'm not whining about where I live or having to drive - so don't think I am - I'm just pointing out that many people drive MUCH further than across town to enjoy more than ONE option for a sit-down restaurant, for example...

Posted by: Michele Location: Middleton on Jan 27, 2009 at 09:17 AM
Ok everyone just CHILL. I spoke with one of the owners. There will be more in Madison eventually. Then they will move Northward towards the Dells. I have to come over to the Eastside to get my seafood fix (Red Lobster) and eat at Red Robins because they aren't on my side of town. Do you see me complaining? Let's enjoy the fact that we even have one here in our wonderful city.

Posted by: Jules Location: West of Madison on Jan 26, 2009 at 01:23 PM
Alright you east side dwellers. You have Old Country Buffet, Red Lobster, Cracker Barrel, IHOP, and God knows how many other restaurants that the west side does NOT have. So I din't think you are in a world of hurt.

TO:Anonymous on Jan 25, 2009 at 09:34 AM, I do the exact thing with White Castle!!!!! It is an afternoon for me and my wife...ever spent 60.00 at a White Castle???? LOL They look at you like you are crazy!!!!! Good food is worth the drive

Posted by: Bob Location: Middleton on Jan 26, 2009 at 08:56 AM
What's the phone number there?

Posted by: jeff Location: madison on Jan 26, 2009 at 08:16 AM
Great, just what Madison needs, another fast food restaurant. This country is already obese enough, do we really need another fat ladened place to clog our arteries? And yet our politicians are SOOOO worried about our health right?

Posted by: mom Location: eastside on Jan 25, 2009 at 08:06 PM
Steak n Shake hasn't been on the East side for quite some time now. Todd, apparently you don't come this way very often to eat :)

Posted by: Westie Location: West Side on Jan 25, 2009 at 07:27 PM
East Side/West Side, blah, blah, blah. I never will understand why people complain so much about the drive "way across town' for something. We should be thankful that a trip across town does not take 4 hours like it does in some cities. (Which Madison will never become) I love our just right size town, and don't mind the drive to reach a destination. And from what I hear Sonic is worth the drive.

Posted by: Todd Location: Cross Plains on Jan 25, 2009 at 12:37 PM
Quit whining about the East Side not having anything. You guys have Stake-N-Shake and Red Lobster. Us west-siders have to drive east an awful lot too!

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 25, 2009 at 09:34 AM
Hey Whiners 12:29a.m. I live in Green Bay and I'm not kidding when I say this, I'll drive down to Chicago xit 52A Taylor and Roosevelt and go to The Xpress Grill And Jims Original Maxwell Street Polish stand. I'd take a cooler with me and fill it up with Polish & Porkchop sanwiches. Then I'd also go to Golden Chicken and Fish there over by the ball park on the other side of the city. I've never seen such huge pieces of catfish before!! I'll buy a tray of 22 pieces w/hot sauce. I'd buy enough food and bring it home for my mom and dad, my sister and if my brothers would stop over. If you want good food be prepared to travel!

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 25, 2009 at 01:56 AM
I grew up with the original Sonic in my hometown. I can't believe they are finally opening one here! No longer am I going to have to live off Sonic during home visits!

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 24, 2009 at 08:11 PM
"Whiners" you wouldn't be saying that if you lived on the East side! 20 minutes is a lot especially when you would pass about 20 other fast food places on the way. Nothing is built on the East side.

Posted by: eddie on Jan 23, 2009 at 10:35 AM
I just saw it this morning. They open this Weekend. It is there Grand Opening. I used to live and Florida and I loved Sonic. Out of all the fast food places they truly the best.

Posted by: michelle Location: fitchburg on Jan 17, 2009 at 06:38 PM
YEAH!! SONIC! I miss Sonic like crazy since moving here from Texas. I can't wait to get a Route 44 Cherry Limeade.

Posted by: Teyanna Location: Boringsville on Jan 16, 2009 at 04:47 PM
When does it open?

Posted by: Amy Location: Evansville on Nov 14, 2008 at 05:47 PM
I am just SOOOOOOO excited to see Sonic in the Madison area. This way I don't have to drive all the way to Ill. just to have a cream slush which are the best. Thank you sonic.

Posted by: WEST SIDE!! Location: Middleton on Oct 11, 2008 at 10:45 AM
Just another major reason why the West Side is way better than the East. We have everything including the number 1 city! WEST SIIIYYDE

Posted by: Whiners on Oct 11, 2008 at 12:29 AM
I cant believe all you whiners bitch about driving to the west side. You act like its hours and hours away. Its 20 freaking minutes max. I can make it from West Towne Mall to East Towne Mall in 20 minutes flat.

Posted by: Sue Location: Sun Prairie on Oct 10, 2008 at 01:56 PM
I would like to see one by the East Side/Sun Prairie, along with many others...... I won't drive to the West Side just to eat.

Posted by: Joseph on Oct 10, 2008 at 09:41 AM
OMG.....YAY! Sonic Burgers ROCK. As do their cheese covered tater tots. My softball team goes to Florida every year for a tournament and we literally get off the plane and drive right to Sonic. I cant wait for them to open here.

Posted by: east sider Location: madison east on Oct 10, 2008 at 09:28 AM
I agree, I'm sick of going west for everything, we have money on the east side too ya know!

Posted by: Sonicless Location: Sun Prairie on Oct 10, 2008 at 06:25 AM
I thought Sun Prairie was getting one. I am tired of having to drive to the West side for everything. Bring over Sonic and Cold Stone Creamery, too.

Posted by: Sandy Location: Madison on Oct 9, 2008 at 06:25 PM
Sure do wish they would have opened in the summer....I have been watching those commercials for years, and every time it's over 80 degrees I want to drive to Texas for a mango smoothie...I don't think that it will appeal mush to me when it's below 60....sigh

Posted by: Kim Location: Baraboo on Oct 9, 2008 at 05:34 PM
I am so glad that Sonic is finally making it here! I wish we could get one in Baraboo!!!
