Great comments by all. "thanks" I couldn't agree with you more. Unfortunately, other than posting comments on the internet, the professionals who deal with Ms. Falk, et al, are unable to say much about her without fear of reprisal. So go vote Dane County! Allison, I understand your frustration, however, this guy wasn't let out to see his P.O. Its the system as a whole that's broken, and its not just in Dane County. We get daily messages from agencies all over the place where this is a problem. Nothing, unfortunately, will be done about it until something very bad happens when one of these thugs is out. The only way to fix it is VOTE, and do it smartly. Don't just check that little donkey box because its your party! Learn about the candidates and what they have done in their careers before checking that box!

I think we can all thank Kathleen Falk. If everyone wants a change in situations like this the first thing to do is vote someone else into her position.

Why don't they use bracelets/locators? seems like an awful big trust stretch here. Why are people that don't care going to come back? They must be talking to each other about bolting cause that jail has been emptying out lately.

I know most behave, but,if you did wrong and went to huber need to stay your term No work release. Maybe that would be a deterrant if you lost your job because you had to go to jail or huber!!!!!

I think we need to stop letting people out on work release and what not. They should sit in jail and think about the crimes they have committed. Madison is way to soft on criminals. Take away the perks and let them do thier time!

I'm tired of work release- Huber "jail terms". I don't care if it's more expensive, keep these idiots in jail where they belong.

going to jail means going to jail! so what if they can't go to work... if going to work was so darn important, then they wouldn't have taken the chance of missing any by doing something that would get them thrown in jail. So what if they lose their jobs- they can re-apply when they get out- can't be denied a job because of a criminal history, so that is no reason to keep letting them go. they should make these probation officers go to the jail, not have the prisoners go there for appointments! wouldn't you think it would make sense that each P.O. has 1 day they go there, and deal with all their cases at the same day, same place, then work their office the other 4 days? why is it we can put GPS locators in cell phones for kids, but we can't use GPS to track our criminals when they're supposed to be IN jail serving their sentences, but are released to go to appointments? just a really, super stupid idea. keep them locked up! either that, or shoot them like the vermin they are!

Maybe we should just stop letting inmates leave on work release privledges. They're in jail for a reason so lets keep them there!

When are we going to learn that letting scum out on work release, or whatever is only going to cause trouble! If you do the crime then DO THE TIME! Sit in jail and think about what you've done. Criminals have way to many freedoms these days. Lets get tougher on these people! Sit and stare at 4 walls for you 160 days, maybe then you will think twice about committing another crime! WAKE UP MADISON!

It seems like every week that one of these thugs is going AWOL, and then using more resources up to go find him. Why do we keep letting these people go to Ferris? Build a new, bigger jail...and here is some of my money for it!
