Janesville Superintendent Tom Evert is retiring effective July 1, 2009. He's spent 14 years with the district

His contract is up at end of year. He said it's time for a new leader to help develop a new long-range plan for the district.

The school board will meet Tuesday night to decide on a hiring process and time line for Evert's replacement. They'd like to have a replacement by March of 2009.
