FENNIMORE, Wis. (AP) --- Authorities in Grant County say a 64-year-old man was killed by his own truck after it came out of gear.

Grant County Sheriff's deputy Adam Day says John J. Kuchar died Friday night. He says Kuchar had stopped his Chevy S-10 and got out to open a pasture gate, but was hit and dragged when the vehicle came out of gear.

The accident happened on Blue School Road in Fennimore, which is located about 70 miles west of Madison.
