Incident report from Madison Police Department:

On December 22nd, at 12:53 p.m., Madison police were called to a disturbance that had just occurred in the parking lot of the Walgreen Drug Store, 725 Northport Drive.

A store manager said he had approached two men who had parked a black SUV in a stall designated for drivers with disabilities. The SUV did not have plates, a hangtag, or any sticker indicating a person with a disability was operating it. The manager took out some paper, wrote down the license plate, and tucked the information in his shirt pocket. The two men saw this and started yelling at the manager. One gave him a push with both hands, and then reached into the shirt pocket to retrieve the plate information.

As this was happening, a woman witnessing the encounter also started to write down the plate number. Before she was able to complete the task, a perpetrator punched her in the face. The two men then got in the SUV and drove off. Witnesses thought there were two women in the back of the SUV.

Suspects:
Perpetrator #1 is described as a male, black, 20-25 years old, 5'8" to 5'10", thin build, wearing a black jacket with small colored shapes on it.

Perpetrator #2 is described as a male, black, 20-25 years old, thin build, 5'5" to 5'8", wearing a knit hat.

Victims:
Male, age 54, Madison
Victim was pushed by one of the perpetrators.

Female, age 44, Madison
Victim was punched in the face by one of the perpetrators.

Way to go MPD, lets do a PR, but not release any vehicle info. WOW, they wont hire anyone with expirience, but if you have a degree, they are all over you. Pertinent information would have been nice..

Anonymous, please tell me you didn't just advise people to call 911 to report a parking problem. No wonder the system is so overwhelmed if you think a car parked in a handicapped stall is an appropriate 911 call.

Two weeks later we hear about this? What was the license number or at least what state? Bus drivers, taxi drivers and the rest of us could have been keeping an eye out for this black SUV!

Anon @ 0141, I'm afraid you'd be the kind of neighbor who wouldn't call police on someone breaking into the house next door, 'cause you just want to mind your own business. I've said it before - if you're not willing to do your part to keep society safe, you're little different from the criminals yourself.

This is insane that these people reacted this way they could have just moved. However, the manager was wasting his time, because you can't just call in a plate and they mail them a ticket. You have to wait for parking enforcement to come out which takes forever. The women should have just called 911 and mined her own business. People these days do not mind their own business and that is how they get into trouble.
