Fire Destroys Shed; Damage $100,000

From the Dane County Sheriff's Office:

Madison, WI. Monday, February 23, 2009 – At approximately 1:48 a.m., Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Fire Departments from Belleville, Brooklyn, Fitchburg, New Glarus, Oregon, and Verona, responded to 6353 County Highway A, Town of Montrose, for a structure fire. Upon arrival, flames were seen coming from the roof of a shed that was on the property.

The shed, which contained several vehicles and welding equipment, was a complete loss. The estimated loss at this time is approximately $100,000.

No one was injured as a result of the fire, which was reported by the homeowners. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Dude, it was in a shed, not the house. If they had smoke detectors in their shed (and why anyone would is beyond me) then chances are at that time of the morning everyone was sleeping anyway and no one would have heard them from the house.
