Dane County Jail Inmate Declared AWOL Graham D. Helser, an inmate of the Dane County Jail, fled from the Ferris Center and has not been located.

From the Dane County Sheriff's Department:

Madison, WI. April 9, 2009 – At approximately 3:00 am today, Graham D. Helser, an inmate of the Dane County Jail, fled from the Ferris Center and has not been located.

Helser, age 35 of McFarland, is described as a Caucasian male, 6’3” tall and approximately 240 lbs., with brown hair and green eyes. He went AWOL this morning by running out the fire escape door of the Ferris Center located on Rimrock Road in Madison.

Helser is serving a probation and parole sentence. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.

Without these people being allowed to leave for community service purposes, several of madison's non profit's would not be able to function. Sadly, most people choose not to volunteer unless made to do so and I can tell you when we tried to run my food pantry without huber guys, we did not have enough help. We are the 2nd largest pantry in dane county and we serve over 300 families/week. God bless the judges who allow them these privlages, it allows us to help serve those in need in our city.

Gregory... No, I've never been to Huber because I am a law abiding citizen! However the fact remains, I find it hard to believe every single door is wide open for anyone (even non huber rersidence) to get in or out! Some have to be locked if maybe to keep the public out. You keep all your doors unlocked all the time? Besides you do not know for a fact... he was not wearing the scrubs as noted in the shot above!

To Brenda: They are Huber inmates, they have civilian clothing in their rooms. I guarantee you he was in jeans and a t-shirt. You obviously have never been inside of this place. People sputing off with no knowledge!
