Cable media monster MTV is hours away from shining the national spotlight on Madison and the University of Wisconsin.
It's a reality show with a twist, with students taping their own stories, both good and bad.
The show's preview paints a wild picture. Everything that is freshman year at the University of Wisconsin they claim, filmed and documented by the students themselves.
"They're really getting things that you probably wouldn't get in any other show," Kevin Tracy said.
And they're getting those things from students who had no idea what they were getting into, going from freshman orientation to MTV star in a matter of days.
MTV executives say the idea came to them from a former UW student. By taking out producers and camera crews the idea is to get the freshman experience in its most raw form. Some of which aren't exactly the types of things parents hear about on a campus tour.
"Honestly at the beginning I wasn't expecting it to get picked up," Tracy said. "Then once it finally did get picked up I was like, 'Wow, maybe I shouldn't have filmed all those things."
From daily studies to off-campus parties these students are filming every aspect of their lives and now that the show is about to start airing some of the students are a little nervous about what the entire country is about to see.
"There's definitely going to be some things that I'm not too proud to show my parents," Tracy said. "But that's college for you, it's realistic."
"I'm kind of one of those people that believes everything happens for a reason," said Andrea Endries, another of the show's personalities.
A group of UW students that, on a whim, responded to ads about being on TV are about to have their lives out there for the world to see.

I went to school at UW Madison, and I think that these kids painted a very poor picture of how student life really is at UW. MTV clearly picked those who they thought would "entertain" even if it is distorted a bit. The whole show was a waste of air time and their time.

Oooh I can't wait to watch this show. NOT! what a waste of air time.

My roommates and I, who are all seniors, watched the preview last night on MTV - it's ridiculous how the lives of these students are portrayed. From what we saw, only a very, very small portion of freshman encounter the things these "personalities" seem to go through every day. Don't get to caught up in the moment, it's more scripted than they want us to believe.
