Man Arrested for 5th OWI Offense

Release from Dane County Sheriff's Office:

On Friday, April 17, at approximately 6:30 pm, a Dane County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Crocker St. in the Village of Mazomanie. The deputy recognized the driver from a previous OWI arrest and was aware the driver’s operating status was revoked.

Gerardo Mena, age 24 of Mazomanie, was arrested on a felony 5th offense OWI charge. Mena is currently being held in the Dane County Jail. In addition to the OWI charge, Mena is also being held on a charge of bail jumping and a probation hold.

Has there ever been a study as to what state has the most drunk driver re-offenders? I'll bet Wisconsin could be in the top. If so, the state capitol and every D.A's office should display an award. How proud would they be then?
