Fire Destroys Home, Office
A fire Sunday afternoon in the Village of Deerfield destroys a local dentist's home and office.

Village of Deerfield House Fire

Madison, WI. May 31, 2009 – At approximately 2:50 p.m. the Deerfield Fire Department and Dane County Deputies responded to a report of a single family residential house fire at 29 W. Nelson St. in the Village of Deerfield. When they arrived, flames were visible and there was heavy black smoke. The home was soon fully engulfed. Deerfield Fire Department was assisted by the Stoughton Fire Department and Deer/Grove EMS.

The homeowner was home when the fire started, but all occupants exited the home without injury. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and a monetary estimate of damage is unavailable at this time. The home appears to be a total loss.

So sad to see this house go up in flames. Such a beautiful historical house too. I was in it many of times. So sad.
