TOWN OF BRISTOL STRUCTURE FIRE

Madison, WI. Monday, June 1, 2009 – At approximately 8:56 p.m. Dane County Sheriff’s deputies, along with Sun Prairie, Marshall, Cottage Grove, and Columbus Fire Departments responded to a residential fire at 2701 County Highway V in the Town of Bristol.

The occupants of the residence were cooking in the kitchen when a grease fire erupted and started the kitchen on fire. They were able to escape out of the house unharmed. The house appears to be a near total loss due to the fire and extensive smoke damage. The estimated amount of damage is unavailable at this time.

The incident remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
