From the City of Fitchburg Fire Department:

The City of Fitchburg Fire Department, along with automatic aid units from the Town of Madison, Verona, and Oregon fire departments, responded to a report of a mobile home fire at 5291 Byrne Road in the City of Fitchburg.

The renter of the home was awakened by a smoke detector and discovered a fire in the utility area.

First arriving crews found heavy fire at one end of the mobile home. All occupants had safely exited prior to the arrival of the fire crews.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The mobile home was not equipped with an automatic residential fire sprinkler system.
