There's a new way to get around downtown Madison that's somewhat old-fashioned.
The Holiday Trolley began running Saturday.
The annual tradition takes shoppers down State street and around the Capitol Square.
Organiizer Mitch Freund says riders received gift bags and some Christmas carols to get them in the mood.
"We had a lot of people say they didn't feel they were in the Christmas spirit until they rode on the trolley, really set in for them then."
The trolley runs every weekend until Christmas from noon to 4 p.m., and it is free to ride.
