CrimeTracker 15: Mall Employees Robbed
Two mall employees at East Towne Mall robbed Saturday night.

Incident report from Madison Police Department:
On Saturday night, around 10:45 p.m., two East Towne employees reported being robbed at gunpoint while talking in the parking lot following their work shifts.
The victims - a 58-year old woman from Waterloo, and a 50-year old woman from Sun Prairie - were approached by a man who first claimed to be lost. He then pulled out a handgun and robbed them of money, and their cell phones. One victim also lost her wallet. The robber fled on foot.
Suspect:
Male, white, mid-20's, 6'00", brown shoulder-length hair, facial stubble, medium build wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, black trench coat, and black shoes.

Anonymous at 7:46am, great post. I too am amazed at the comments that work should take only 'x' amount of time and that talking in the parking lot is asking to be robbed. Unbelieveable.

I think it is pathetic that people on this blog are laying fault on the victims! god given right to protect themselves? what kind of moronic statement is that? how about god given right to hold a conversation with a friend & NOT be robbed for doing so? are you people serious? you are going to blame two woman for merely talking? that is what this world is coming to? & you know, it doesnt matter what time of day or night it is, this is WRONG!!! those who are blaming the victims, bet you would be singing a different song if it were you. my sister works at the Mall & closes most of the time. She is not out of there immediately at 9 so quite saying garbage like that.Closers have other duties that take time to complete. she as well as other employee's have requested security come & see that they make it to their car safely & were denied so dont tell me they are there for the employee..they just want to go home. & so much for leaving in pairs,this story proves that is not always helpful

Okay,YUP,so you are saying that they have a god-given right to protect themselves..hmmm so if they wouldve pulled a gun and killed this person, all is a okay with that huh? 10:45pm..well some stores at the mall's dont closed until 9 and then there is deposits and other stuff that needs to be done and some of those employee's are not out until after 10. I too work at the mall and guess what? I HAVE called security for an escort to my car because I close and have to park away from the door out in no where and they told me NO! THEY WERE TOO BUSY! so all of you other Mall employee's who think it is the fault of these woman having a conversation that according to you, drug on too long, you really need to wake up. Be thankful it wasnt you this time and pray it isnt you the next time. To Stumped, how many places have you worked or interviewed where they pre-warned you about being robbed?
