UPDATE: Child Abused in Grant County
UPDATE: Jury finds Grant County woman guilty of two counts of child abuse.

From the Grant County Sheriff:
On December 10, 2009, a Grant County Jury found Elizabeth Roen guilty of one count of recklessly causing great bodily harm to a child; one count of recklessly causing bodily harm to a child.
The trial stemmed from an investigation which began in April, 2009, in the Village of Livingston, where a 2-year-old child sustained severe burns to her feet and other minor injuries.
Sentencing is scheduled for January 28, 2010 at 9:00 a.m.
Regarding both counts, Roen is facing a maximum penalty of not more than 13-years 6-months in prison, or a fine not to exceed $35,000, or both.

A Grant County woman faces child abuse charges after a toddler is found with severe burns to her feet.
19-year-old Elizabeth Roen faces two felony counts of abuse to a child from an April incident involving a two-year-old child.
The child received severe burns to her feet, as well as other minor injuries at her Village of Livingston residence.
Grant County authorities say the Roen did not seek medical attention for the child until the next day, when she was brought in to the emergency room in Dodgeville.
Due to the extent of her injuries, the child was transferred to UW Hospital's Burn Unit in Madison.
Roen's initial appearance is scheduled for July 13, in Grant County.
