Child Abused in Grant County
A Grant County teen faces child abuse charges after a toddler is found with severe burns to her feet.

A Grant County woman faces child abuse charges after a toddler is found with severe burns to her feet.
19-year-old Elizabeth Roen faces two felony counts of abuse to a child from an April incident involving a two-year-old child.
The child received severe burns to her feet, as well as other minor injuries at her Village of Livingston residence.
Grant County authorities say the Roen did not seek medical attention for the child until the next day, when she was brought in to the emergency room in Dodgeville.
Due to the extent of her injuries, the child was transferred to UW Hospital's Burn Unit in Madison.
Roen's initial appearance is scheduled for July 13, in Grant County.

I pray they take the child and eventually the second child away and place them in a loving home.

Unfortunately I have a friend who is a member of the family through kinship. And I have met the accused women before. I have been told that this women is the mother of the tot, and is pregnant with a second. I was not told of what excatly happened, but I made it known to my freind that no matter how it happened and why, you don't prevent getting emergency aid for a child for any reason. I know transportation is an issue for the family, but it is no excuse. Livingston has an all volunteer rescue squad that would have taken the child to the hospital for her had they been just called. I think what this young adult who never was really a child when she was younger is a lot of counseling and supervision from outside of the home. I also pray that the tot makes a full recovery from her injuries.

Where does it say she's the mother? The crime is still terrible, but did I miss part of the story?
