UPDATE: State Trooper Injured in Accident
UPDATE: State Trooper Inspector was injured this morning in an accident with a dump truck.

On Friday July 24, 2009 a Personal Injury Crash occurred involving 2 vehicles.

There was 1 person injured.

Location: CTH V AND CTH I (W)
Nearest City: DEFOREST
County: DANE

At about 10:30 a.m. (7-24-2009) Inspector Toni Morrow of the Wisconsin State Patrol, Southwest Region, was driving a fully marked State Patrol police cruiser westbound on CTH V in northern Dane County near the city of DeForest. A loaded dump truck northbound on CTH I apparently failed to stop or yield from a stop sign at the intersection with CTH V. The dump truck struck the cruiser in a “T-bone manner.” Inspector Morrow sustained non-life threatening injuries and was pinned in the vehicle. After extrication, she was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation of her injuries. The driver of the dump truck was uninjured.

The crash is being investigated by deputies of the Dane County Sheriff’s Department. Enforcement action will be based upon their investigation.

No further press releases are expected.

Enforcement Action: PENDING INVESTIGATION

A State Trooper was injured Friday morning in an accident with a dump truck at the intersection of County I and County V in Vienna.

Emergency personnel from the DeForest Area Fire/EMS Department extricated the trooper. She was taken away from the scene by ambulance.

The squad received extensive damage to its front end. The dump truck, of the John Strieter Farm Truck Service, suffered damage to its front end and the passenger side.

Traffic was being rerouted off County V at Norway Grove Road to the east and County I.
