On September 23, 2009, officers from the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office arrested Francis J. Degenhardt, D.O.B. of 12/24/1958, W5952 Chestnut Street, Packwaukee WI. 53049. Francis Degenhardt was arrested on a charge of residential burglary and is being held in the Marquette County Jail on a $15,000 cash bond.

Francis Degenhardt is the son of Ruth Deiter and is a person of interest in the Deiter death investigation.

September 22, 2009

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death situation in the Town of Packwaukee.

A 68 year old female was found deceased in her home on Friday September 18th 2009.

Investigators from the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and agents from the Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory were on scene throughout the day of Friday.

Investigators do not believe this was a home invasion situation and are working to resolve this investigation diligently.

Details of the investigation will be released at a later date as determined by the sensitivity of the investigation.

The victim has been identified as Ruth A. Deiter Age 68, W5952 Chestnut Street Packwaukee Wi. 53949
