Darlington Police say a runaway horse and buggy damaged six vehicles Wednesday morning.
An officer saw the unmanned horse around 10:30 northbound on Galena Street. The horse and buggy crossed the Main Street bridge and went into the downtown business district.
The officer captured the horse in a parking lot, but not before the officer's patrol vehicle and five other vehicles received minor damage.
The buggy overturned, spilling its contents of gasoline and paint into a parking lot
Police say the horse was tied up about a mile south of the indication location. Investigators believe something spooked it and it got free. The horse was not injured, nor were any people.
