Madison, WI. October 20, 2009 – The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of an attempted abduction in the village of Black Earth.
On Monday, October 19th, a 7-year-old girl reported she was walking from school to a piano lesson, when a man approached her and asked her to get into his vehicle and help him look for his lost dog. The incident occurred near the intersection of Center St. and Remington St. at approximately 3:00 pm. The girl immediately ran to the residence where she had her piano lesson and told the teacher what happened.
The vehicle is described as a light blue pickup truck with a light blue topper. The man is described as a white male, around 30 years old, with ear length brown hair.
Anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or has information, is asked to call the Dane County tip line at (608) 284-6900.

D, there are also people out there who are nice, and not "creeps". Everyone freaks out if a male walks in the same direction - we have condemned all men because of the actions of a very very few.

I have always felt that Black Earth was a safe place to live. However, my daughter also knows of stranger danger and we talk to her about it frequently. You can never be to sure of your surroundings, there are creeps everywhere. And as a parent in Black Earth I would like to say that we will be on the lookout now more than ever for ANYONE trying to hurt our kids!
