TO KIPPY - How hard that must have been for your husband to spend all that time at home! Yes, I consider all that you mention to be a slap on the wrist for multiple drunk driving convictions. Anything less than 1 year of confinement in a state facility and permanent revocation of driving privileges is a slap on the wrist. Noticed I called them driving privileges rather than rights?? That wasn't a typo. No one has the RIGHT to get drunk and drive. Not only are they a danger to themselves, but they are a danger to everyone else on the road.

Why not put a big red X over their drivers license to show that they are repeat drunk drivers and not allow them to buy booze and if you sell them booze you lose your liquor license. Interlocks have proven not to work since they can just drive something else.

In the state of WI, 1st offense is a traffic violation. offenses 2-4 are misdemeanors and the 5th and up are felony's. that is a load of bull. the only way that u can get a felony OWI in the state of WI is if you do another crime like hit and run or vehicular manslaughter. that is bull, i think that if you are caught once for OWI you should have your license revoked for life, not allowed to register license plates for a car or even a car for your life and you should be in jail for years. it would stop OWI offenses. as the budget issues right now and possibility of laying off deputies, you can not say that if they lay off deputies people will get away with OWI more often then what they do, but they will get away with it the same ammount as usual. there is not a correlation between OWI drivers and deputies on the road, there is to an extent but taking off 2 deputies a shift is prob what they would do and those 2 deputies prob wouldn't find any more OWI cases then they normally do.
