Release from the Dodge Co. Sheriff's Department:
The Dodge County Sheriffs Department responded to a two vehicle crash in the early morning hours of 10-28-09. The crash occurred on STH 26 just north of CTH JM. Investigation shows that an 18 year old Beaver Dam man was southbound on STH 26 when he crossed the center line and struck a northbound semi tractor and trailer. The car struck the front drivers side steer tire of the Semi, it was a near head on collision for the car. The 18 year old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Semi, a 57 year old Milwaukee man, was transported to the hospital for his injuries. Investigation shows that speed was not a factor. The driver of the Semi attempted to steer out of the way of the oncoming car, but the collision was unavoidable. This is the eleventh fatal on Dodge county roads this year, last year at this time there were 17 reported fatalities.
The name of the deceased is being held pending notification of family.

Pearce was the most responsible 18 year old I ever had the honor of being friends with. My prayers go out to his family. I would also like to say that I highly doubt he was distracted, there was many times where I would be driving, and he would yell at me for taking my eyes off the road. This is a horrible accident, and he will be greatly missed by many, many people. He was too good for this world, and I know that he's looking down on all of us. He'll always have a place close to my heart. He could brighten anyone's day, and made it his personal mission. I will miss him greatly.
Every time I saw Pearce he was smiling and looked happy. He seemed like a genuinely nice person. I am sorry for your loss. Your family will be in my prayers.
Pearce was a beautiful human being. He did not own a cell phone. He had been very ill the day before but did not want to miss his very first day of work at Quad Graphics. He was loved by everyone who knew him. Please think before you cast aspersions. Look the word up Dude. It looks like you need something more to do with your time. I would also suggest heading to church. "Judge not lest ye be judged" isn't just a saying. I will pray for you and hope you find Peace. Pearce would not have held your insensitive words against you...nor will I. Pearce's mom.
