Countless numbers of people log onto the YouTube website everyday but the local directors of an upcoming Miss Saigon production used it to cast their leading role.

They searched everywhere for Miss Saigon and they found her in Hawaii.

Now she's in the main land and she's got the main role.

Miss Saigon is 20-year-old Shawna Masuda, she came to Madison all the way from Honolulu, Hawaii to play the role some say she was made for.

Masuda says, "I love music, I love acting and dancing and the theater people and just everything and performing live it's really rewarding."

This is Masuda's second role as Miss Saigon, her first performance was back home in Hawaii, it was posted on YouTube.

YouTube is how casting directors discovered Masuda, the next step, getting her to Madison.

" the next e-mail was Oh my Gosh you have got to see this youtube clip of this girl named Shawna in Hawaii. I played it and it was this anonymous posting of her production in Hawaii and we were both speechless we were blown away," says Andrew Abrams with Four Seasons Theatre.

After making a few phone calls they got a hold of Masuda, she was shocked.

" I thought I was dreaming, I was like are you sure you got the right person so it was really nice," Masuda said.

Now with the show less than a week away, it's go time for everyone involved.

Masuda says, "I hope everything goes smoothly the cast is wonderful and they make me feel comfortable so hopefully everything goes better than planned."

Better than planned and perhaps the best Miss Saigon.

" she's absolutely the right person I couldn't be more excited about her doing this role," Abrams said.
