MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A Madison radio station is defending a concert-ticket promotion in which a disc jockey encouraged listeners to send in nude photos of themselves.
Tyler Kruze of Z104-FM told listeners Wednesday the person with the best picture would win fourth-row tickets to see Sean Kingston.
It's not clear how many people complained to the station, but a number of people told a local TV station the stunt was ridiculous and appalling.
One radio official stands by his DJ. Mike Ferris is the operations manager for Clear Channel Madison. He says people are overreacting, and it was a bit of harmless, frivolous fun.
He says seven listeners sent in pictures. He says the station verified all the people were adults, but didn't say how.
Kruze apologized Thursday.

Tonight our viewers are questioning a Madison radio host requesting Nude photos from listeners.
The pictures were part of a, how far would you go, concert ticket giveaway.
If you ask radio station management this is harmless fun to draw some attention and give away a few tickets.
But to the woman that sent us an email earlier today there is nothing funny about it. She says she and her friends want the DJ fired.
Toni Weinke says, "I was just totally thrown back from it and thought it was disgusting and I just couldn't believe a radio station would do something like that."
The contest was announced last night on z104.
The DJ, Tyler Kruze, was giving away two tickets to tonight's Sean Kingston concert and said listeners could earn the tickets by sending him a naked picture of themselves doing house work.
FM Operations Manager Mike Ferris says, "Every contestant was over 18. That was implicitly directed in the instructions when Tyler did the contest so it's simply a matter of having a little harmless fun. Like I said, he's outrageous, he does these things because he wants to get attention."
The station tells us they haven't received a single complaint directly to them by phone or email but sometime late this afternoon they did pull the pictures off of their web site where they were posted earlier today.
Z104 management says this was a spontaneous decision by the DJ, Kruze, but they're standing by him calling it harmless fun.

If most of the listeners are under 18 then that's where you as a parent need to step in and tell your children not to listen to that station. I think you are being a bit sensitive ... it was a concert promotion, it got the recognition they were looking for, and so mission accomplished. If you are so offended I'll say it again ... Change the Station
Most of the listeners are under 18 I have a high school student that is what she & her friends listen too, that DJ is plain sick if someone thinks different they are just as sick. Maybe someone should set him up with Dateline NBC SICK-O
Kevin...touchy subject? yeesh! Child Enticement is going way 2 far. He didn't say ... "Ok children (under 18) please get naked and send me pictures" come on can we be a little more sensitive?! that is absurd. It was a silly promotion that people CHOSE to send their naked bodies to. It was their choice, they are adults and they are obviously proud of their bodies otherwise they wouldn't have sent the pics. Get Over It!!!
