Witnesses say a semi-truck veered off Highway 80 early this morning in New Lisbon, crashing into the back of a grocery store.

The crash badly damaged the store and knocked out power to a portion of the city, located in Juneau County.

A spokeswoman for the Juneau County Sheriff's Department tells NBC15's Dana Brueck, the only injury was to the driver. The driver was transported to the local hospital. The driver's name has not released.

The semi-truck crashed into Barnes Family Foods.

According to the Sheriff's Department, the truck also smashed a power pole. This knocked out power to much of the city's east side. As of 1:30 p.m., people were still reporting power outages.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

New Lisbon is just about an hour north of Madison.

C..you have to come off the interstate up a ramp to the Rt, then go Lt,via an overhead, go down a ramplike roadway, take 2 curves (one over a RR crossing, one over a bridge),then he plowed across the corner of a lawn of a house on the corner, crossed the road, and went into the back of the store. The owner & family live in a house on the other ?third of that same side of the block. Driver is lucky he didn't go off the overhead, or into a backwater, the river, or into one of the houses & that there were no other cars involved,, and at 1am if he had gone for the river,,,,might not have been noticed/rescued at 1am. He better be on his knees thanking God he is alive & didn't kill anyone else!! Will Paul reopen,,,,,,we sure hope so!!!!!!!!!!
