1 Dead, Another Injured in Crash
One fatality is reported after a crash on CTH N in Grant County.

Information from the Grant County Sheriff's Department:

James R. Vollmar, 71, was going south on CTH N. Julie Weber, 52, was going north on CTH N and left the roadway to the east. Weber traveled the ditch line and went over Short Cut Road. After crossing Short Cut Road, Weber began to slide and re-entered the roadway sideways. Weber's vehicle crossed CTH N and enetered the southbound lane colliding with Vollmar about .10 of a mile north of Short Cut Road.

Lancaster EMS transported Weber and Vollmar to Grant Regional Hospital where doctors pronounced Wbeer deceased.

Vollmar was later transported by Med Link to Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse. He is listed in serious condition. Vollmar was wearing a seatbelt; Weber was not wearing a seatbelt. Bennetts Mobile removed both vehicles from the scene. Lancaster Fire Department and the Lancaster Police Department assisted the Grant County Sheriff's Department at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
