Let's remember that in every situation whether it be "negligence" (which I personally do not believe it is) or not, there are way more than 2 victims. The woman who did not survive but Mr. Neuman is a victim and so his family. They will be going through a harship as well. I understand the woman's family is at a loss, a great loss, but we need to remember so is Mr. Neuman's. Only when there is an intentional homicide is the defendant not a victim as well. Mr. Neuman is a victim of circumstance and he will have to remember that the rest of his life. It is important for anyone close to either family to be there in this hard time as a support network for any sort of anger, frustration, understanding, or any kind of feeling that may need to be expressed. This accident involves way more than just the two drivers. Don't go persecuting a family you do not know, or even one you do know, especially in this situation.
Actually, family has been told what happened in the accident. abd the only victim is the one killed. the man's negligence caused the accident and now a family has lost a loved one. If he would have been drinking would you still say he is a victim no you wouldn't. In my eyes there is no difference. He made a bad dicision to pick up a cell phone off the floor of his van while driving..... still negligent!!!!
How heartless are you people? Both involved in the crash are victims. It is a tragedy that the woman was killed, it is also a tragedy that the other driver will forever have to live with this in his heart. As for the stories about why the accident occurred - if it hasn't been released yet, don't go mouthing off about it.
