What would Thom say to the ignorant, cruel individuals who left heartless comments on here? He would probably say he felt sorry for them and their hardened hearts. He would realize (whether THEY realize it or not) that they are living meaningless, awful lives and any comments made by them mean nothing-- He would hope that they would find a way to bring positive out in the world for themselves and others. I believe all of us who love Thom should feel the same: simply sorry for the people who wrote such cruel comments. They do not have love in their hearts or true joy in their lives, and sadly they probably don't even know it. Thom was a rare individual who truly and sincerely made this world a better place by being in it. Those of us who were fortunate to have had him in our lives will always keep "Thom" in our hearts and we will continue to brighten the world as he did.Only those of us who knew and loved Thom can really understand the truthfulness of this statement. I love you, Thom.

I know, it saddens me to think that there are evil people out there that have nothing better to do with their time. Maybe if they surrounded themselves with more people like Tom, they would have a brighter outlook on life and spend their energy doing nice things for people instead of spreading cruelness through anonymous postings. We were blessed to have had Tom in our lives and I feel sorry for "wakeuppeople" & "OSHA". I pray that no one in the Schmitt Family ever sees these hurtful remarks. Happy Veterans Day, THANK YOU Sgt. Schmitt, Semper Fi

Hey, "OSHA"... I'm pretty sure the Occupational Safety and Health Administration doesn't have the power to regulate the self-employed. They are there to ensure that all employees of, say, Wal-Mart or General Motors, are safe on the job when those employees work for big corporations, not themselves.
