A ceremony was held in Madison Thursday morning to honor seven soldiers with the Wisconsin Army National Guard who are being deployed to Afghanistan.

The soldiers are part of the Madison-based Detachment 52 Operational Support Airlift Command.

They will execute airlift missions to carry critical personnel throughout Afghanistan and surrounding regions.

The soldiers have been training since this past October. They'll make a stop in Texas for more training before heading overseas.
