Madison: Upon learning of the Pope’s announcement, Bishop Robert C. Morlino of Madison offered the following comments:
“Archbishop Listecki and I have known each other since I was appointed bishop in 1999. His upbeat style and sense of humor make him a natural friend. Since his arrival in LaCrosse, his strong competence in Civil Law, Canon Law, and Moral Theology have served us very well in all the Dioceses of Wisconsin, through the Wisconsin Catholic Conference and our ecclesiastical provincial meetings.”
“As we go forward, we all will come more to know and respect Archbishop Listecki’s pastoral vision. On behalf of all of us in south-central Wisconsin, I promise him our prayers and loyal collaboration as be becomes the Archbishop of Milwaukee.”
It is indeed a great day for the Church; and a great day for the people of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Archdiocese of Milwaukee says a successor has been named to the archbishop post once held by Timothy Dolan.
Bishop Jerome Listecki of La Crosse, Wis., was named the 11th archbishop of the archdiocese by Pope Benedict XVI. A news release from the archdiocese says the Vatican announced the selection Saturday.
The 60-year-old Listecki will lead the archdiocese of some 675,000 parishioners and 211 churches. He succeeds Dolan, who was named archbishop of New York earlier this year.
Listecki has led the La Crosse diocese since March 2005. The Chicago native will be installed as archbishop in January.

The only thing Bishop Robert Morlino is hurting is the pride of those who choose to be disobedient to The Truths Christ put forth and our Bishop is representing.

All Bishop Morlino is doing is following the teachings of the catholic church (very well, if you ask me). I see him quite frequently, and he is a very humble man. He has said many times: "I just want to follow the The Holy Father". Anonymous, how is following the church hurting the church? And just a side note, since he as arrived in Madison, vocations have gone from almost nothing to nearly 30, all of which are great men, which I know first hand. If you know of any ways he is hurting th church, please say, but if you are going to make unsubstantiated slams, please stop. In Christ, Ben

Bishop Morlino is hurting the Catholic church, his endorsement means nothing to me. He needs to step down and go away.
