UPDATE: Man Killed in Lumber Accident
A man has died after cutting lumber on his own property. INSIDE: Release from Sheriff's Office; name of deceased released.

Release from Dane County Sheriff's Office:
At 8:30 a.m. Dane County Deputies and Waunakee EMS responded to 7715 Bonetti Rd in the Town of Dane for a man struck by tree.
Darrell Clemens, age 60 from the Town of Dane, was pushing down a tree at this location with a farm tractor. A large branch from the tree broke loose and struck him on the head. Initially Clemens was reported unconscious but breathing. When first responders arrived on scene, Clemens was not breathing and CPR was initiated. Med Flight responded however Clemens was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries.

A man from the Town of Dane has died after a tree branch fell on his head. The man was cutting lumber on his property north of Dane on Bonetti Road when the incident happened at about 8:30 Saturday morning.
Med-flight was dispatched, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His name is being withheld until family can be notified.

Darrell was a great man. Who cut down more trees in his life then most of us see in ours. He was more prfessional then the professionals. He could walk out into any woods tell you what kind of tree it was and what it was good for. He was a great man who would help any one that asked. I miss him every day and always will.
I was very fortunate to have known Darrell and he will be greatly missed. My sympathy goes out to his family and all who called him a friend. His time on earth was not long enough but he did not waste a moment of it. God, you asked and he came.
Wow, some of you really need to take a deep breath and lighten up before reading some of these comments. Nowhere in Rondo's first comment does he make professionals sound perfect, s/he was simply making a general statement and providing some advice to those not as knowledgeable with forestry work. No matter how many times I read it did I get the impression it was something directed negatively at the deceased.
