Standoff in Rock County
Rock County Sheriff’s S.W.A.T. arrests armed subject after early morning standoff.

From the Rock County Sheriff's Department:
On 11/15/09, at approximately 1:37 A.M., Milton Police Department, along with the Rock County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, and Janesville Police Department’s K-9 unit, were dispatched to 154 East Madison Street, in the City of Milton for a possible shots fired. Michael R. Wendt, 23, of Milton, who was intoxicated, had possibly fired a gun inside the residence.
At 2:04 A.M., Rock County S.W.A.T. was paged along with the Rock County Hostage/Negotiations Team and responded to the scene. The Hostage/Negotiations Team was not able to make contact with the subject after repeated calls to the residence and to Wendt’s personal cell phone. The S.W.A.T. Team made verbal contact with Wendt and at approximately 5:22 A.M., Wendt was taken into custody without incident.
Milton Police Department took custody of Wendt and arrested him for Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon While Intoxicated. This press release concludes the Rock County Sheriff’s Office involvement with this incident.
