Teens Cited for having Fake Guns Police were forced to hold a group of teens at gun point until it was determined they had fake guns. INSIDE: Report from MPD.

Incident Report from the Madison Police Department:

A 55-year old Madison man called 911 on Sunday morning, November 22nd, after seeing four young men firing handguns at a plastic bottle in the 4600 block of Verona Road. The caller watched as all four tucked weapons in their waste bands before walking away. The witness was very disturbed by what he saw, not knowing whether the firearms were real or not. Police responded and ordered the young men to the ground at gunpoint. It turned out they were in possession of Airsoft facsimile guns that were recently stolen from MC Sports, 4546 Verona Road. The young men were cautioned about the danger of walking around with look-alike weapons, that officers need to make split-second decisions and it can be very difficult in that time period to determine what is real and what is not.

Totally being in possession of a stolen anything is against the law. I know a guy who baught something that turned out to be stolen and he was cited for it. So not only was he out the money, he got a ticket too. I am outraged! Theft is a major crime and those kids just got away with it.

If these were thee Airsoft guns that were stolen from MC sports, why weren't they also cited with Theft?
