Information from the Green Co. Sheriff's Office:

At approximately 8:41 p.m., on 11-28-2009 the Green County Sheriff's Department was notified of a motor vehicle crash with injuries on STH 92, a short distance north of Schaeffer Rd. in the Exeter Township. A police officer from Belleville, Green County Deputies, and a police officer from Brooklyn responded along with EMS and FIRE from Belleville. Med Flight was contacted and landed on scene. An investigation revealed that Stevelyn E. Knutson, 48 of rural Belleville had been operating his vehicle southbound on STH 92, lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, overturned, and he was ejected. Knutson was not wearing a seatbelt. Knutson was pronounced dead at the scene. The Green County Coroner?s Office responded. Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor.
