UPDATE: Multi-Car Crash on Beltline INSIDE: Latest information on chain-reaction crash this morning on the Beltline.

UPDATED Monday, November 30, 2009 --- 10:40 a.m.

Press Release from the Monona Police Department:

On Monday, November 30, 2009, at approximately 6:46 a.m., Monona Police, along with Madison Police and Fire Departments, responded to a five vehicle crash on westbound US 12/18 between Stoughton Road and Monona Drive.

During the morning rush hour traffic a rear-end crash occurred, causing a chain reaction with other vehicles.

None of the driver’s or vehicle occupants were transported for medical care.

The crash caused some delay in the morning commute and multiple vehicles were towed from the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

I wanna thank all the people who called 911 and said that this crash was eastbound. Please know the basics of where you are and which direction you're going before calling!! 911 staff has to be cognizant of jurisdictional boundaries, or the media will be all over them for doing it "wrong", and it doesn't help when callers are clueless.
