Release from the Iowa County Sheriff's Office:

On 6 December 2009 at approximately 1843hrs, the Iowa County Sheriff’s Officer was advised of a two vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of USH 18/151 at High Point Rd.

The preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle failed to yield the right of way while turning onto USH 18/151. A Dodge Ram being driven by David R. Meyer was attempting to negotiate the intersection onto USH 18/151 and was struck by a GMC Envoy westbound on USH 18/151. The GMC Envoy was being operated by Rebecca Dudley-Hackett. Gordon Hackett was a passenger.

Ridgeway and Barneveld Fire Departments extricated all parties involved. Barneveld EMS, Dodgeville EMS, and Ridgeway First Responders provided emergency medical care. Med Flight transported Mr. Meyer from the scene. Mrs. Dudley-Hackett and Mr. Hackett were transported to Upland Hills Hospital for medical treatment.

The accident remains under investigation by the WI State Patrol and the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office.

Alcohol does not believe to have been a factor.
