Release from Grant County Sheriff's Department:

On January 20, 2010 at 2:15 a.m., Deputy Smith stopped a vehicle driven by Janine Halverson (18, Fennimore) for a seatbelt violation in the Village of Montfort. Christopher Hardy (23, Boscobel) was a passenger in the vehicle.

The deputy detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. Officer Dresen of the Fennimore Police Department arrived at the scene.

During the search of the vehicle, six pounds of marijuana along with drug paraphernalia were located.

Halverson is being charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating under the influence of a controlled substance and a seatbelt violation.

Hardy is being charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and probation violation.

Both subjects are not cooperating with law enforcement.
