Male, age 11, Madison
Details:
This morning, around 9:20 a.m., a car struck an 11-year old boy as he tried to cross busy East Washington Avenue near First Street.
Witnesses indicate traffic had a green light at the time of the crash.
He was struck by an outbound vehicle, and transported to a local hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The driver was not cited. The crash is under investigation.

REALLY?!!, first off I agree with you. I wonder though if some of this isn't from the media blitz against stranger danger. I know it goes through my mind. I teach my kids as best I can how to avoid that and how to react if they can't avoid it, and they know they are only to interact with people I've told them ahead of time are okay.

yes Wash is a very busy street, but guess whatit has traffic lights. Use them. Have you noticed most people are lasy and j-walk in the middle of the block instead of the corner. Not that this was the case... but certainly an observation. I've see then many times in front of east high school...
