Madison: The bar owners linked to a prostitution investigation at a Janesville strip club have opened a bar in Madison.
The owners of the bar implicated in the prostitution case now own Rev. Jim's Roadhouse-located on Millpond Road. The bar was purchased just 9 days ago by James and Rebecca Halbach. They also own a number of clubs in Janesville including the strip club Screamin' MeeMees.
Janesville Police raided that strip club and 4 other places last Monday. A search warrant filed in court says an employee had witnessed prostitution in the V.I.P. room at Screamin MeeMee's-which is a full nude strip club that does not serve alcohol.
That employee also says acts of prostitution were taped and sent over secure internet connections to the home of James and Rebecca Halbach and the home of Kevin Weaver-the manager of the strip club.
The search warrant says police confiscated computers, servers, V.I.P. receipts and credit card receipts
We spoke with Kevin Weaver Thursday at Rev. Jim's Roadhouse in Madison. He says this bar is not a strip club and the two vehicles in the parking lot advertising strip clubs and nude cabaret were quote "moving vehicles".
According to the Madison City Clerk Rev. Jim's Roadhouse has not applied for an adult entertainment license. Madison's zoning administrator says the bar is not zoned properly for a strip club and to re-zone it they would need to get permission from the plan commission.
