UPDATED Tuesday, March 16, 2010 --- 10:34 a.m.

32-year-old Chris Kindschi appeared in Rock County court today for his initial appearance. He was charged with three counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff for his alleged sexual relationship in Spring of 2009 with a teenage student.

The Criminal Complaint says an anonymous letter sent in the fall of 2009 tipped off authorities that Kindschi was having an inappropriate relationship with a female student.

Kindschi was ordered to have no contact with any females under age 18. He was released on a $2500 signature bond for each count.

This morning 32-year-old Chris Kindschi turned himself in to the Beloit Police Department.

Kindschi, who served as a teacher and soccer coach at Beloit Memorial High School between 1999 and 2009, is charged with sexual assault of a child by school staff.

Now, students and parents are left wondering how this all happened.

Tami Utzig was waiting to pick up her son from track practice...when we told her about Chris Kindschi's arrest.

"I'm surprised, shocked, concerned. But it in no way will it change my opinion of the school."

Utzig believes it was an isolated incident. But says she still has some questions she'd like the district to answer.

She says, " I would want to know first and foremost about the well being of the student involved or students whatever the case may be and then how they're going to handle the situation."

District officials wouldn't talk with our camera's today. But in a press release said, " Student health and safety are the foremost priorities of the district. Therefore, the district will cooperate fully with the Beloit Police Department and any other investigative agencies looking into this matter."

Police learned of the allegations in October of 2009. In November of '09 they forwarded the case to the District Attorney.

Officials say the investigation took a while to wrap up because they had to be very careful with the information.

Beloit Police Captain William Tyler says, "You want to make sure you're able to validate the information because any mis-steps, any mis-information can essentially ruin some ones career. "

Kindschi's first court appearance is scheduled for March 16th.

Police dont pick random people off the street and charge them with crimes. They also cant do it without facts that support an accusation. The facts are not in this press release, but I assure you that there are lengthy reports and witness statements at the Police Department that include all the juicy details of the crimes this "good, decent, innocent man" accused of. He was NOT just picked off the street for no reason.

First, I believe there may have been probable cause to arrest, but that does not mean he's guilty. Please allow him his right to be presumed innocent until proven otherwise by a jury of his peers. To the ones commenting on the ages of the victims, here's my take - the accused is a legal adult in all aspects. The alleged victims are not legal adults in any capacity. Unless the minor is somehow forcing themselves inappropriately, or lying about the situation, the adult holds the responsibility to avoid inappropriate behavior.

BOTTOM LINE he is an adult the other person is not.. If you don't want to get burned don't play with fire...
