BELOIT, Wis. (AP) -- A former Beloit soccer coach who pleaded guilty to having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student has been sentenced to two years in prison.
The judge told Christopher Kindschi he abused his position of authority with a vulnerable young girl.
The Beloit Daily News says the 33-year-old coached boys' and girls' teams at Beloit Memorial High School. He was convicted of three counts of sexually assaulting a student.
The victim told police she had sex with Kindschi five times and that he texted her a picture of his genitals. She said she submitted to his advances because she feared losing playing time.
Before Wednesday's sentencing Kindschi said he couldn't find words strong enough to express his remorse. He says he failed the victim, the community and his family.

32-year-old Chris Kindschi appeared in Rock County court today for his initial appearance. He was charged with three counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff for his alleged sexual relationship in Spring of 2009 with a teenage student.
The Criminal Complaint says an anonymous letter sent in the fall of 2009 tipped off authorities that Kindschi was having an inappropriate relationship with a female student.
Kindschi was ordered to have no contact with any females under age 18. He was released on a $2500 signature bond for each count.

UPDATED Monday, March 8, 2010 --- 9:00 p.m.
This morning 32-year-old Chris Kindschi turned himself in to the Beloit Police Department.
Kindschi, who served as a teacher and soccer coach at Beloit Memorial High School between 1999 and 2009, is charged with sexual assault of a child by school staff.
Now, students and parents are left wondering how this all happened.
Tami Utzig was waiting to pick up her son from track practice...when we told her about Chris Kindschi's arrest.
"I'm surprised, shocked, concerned. But it in no way will it change my opinion of the school."
Utzig believes it was an isolated incident. But says she still has some questions she'd like the district to answer.
She says, " I would want to know first and foremost about the well being of the student involved or students whatever the case may be and then how they're going to handle the situation."
District officials wouldn't talk with our camera's today. But in a press release said, " Student health and safety are the foremost priorities of the district. Therefore, the district will cooperate fully with the Beloit Police Department and any other investigative agencies looking into this matter."
Police learned of the allegations in October of 2009. In November of '09 they forwarded the case to the District Attorney.
Officials say the investigation took a while to wrap up because they had to be very careful with the information.
Beloit Police Captain William Tyler says, "You want to make sure you're able to validate the information because any mis-steps, any mis-information can essentially ruin some ones career. "
Kindschi's first court appearance is scheduled for March 16th.

...by the way, my heart goes out the girl that was caught up in this preverted act.
LJ, too funny. Either way he's a cheat. He don't deserve his wife. She is obviously too good for a man like this. And he obviously could care less about anything, but his urges. I think she'll be much better off without a cheating husband.
This is sad:( Yes he shouldnt have been play with fire but yet the 16-17 year also should have known better too. and if she was scared to "lose" playing time she should have brought it up to someone. He shouldnt have done what he did but at the same time the high schooler shouldnt have been messing with him either! the whole story sounds fishy to me and its sad that he now has to sit behind bars. to me he sounds like a man who is very decent that got caught up in something that he knew was wrong. my heart goes out to his wife and his family.
