Press Release from Janesville Police Department:

Suspect: W/M, 5’9’ to 5'11, 175 lbs, average build, approx 30 - 40 years of age, wearing a tan baseball cap, tan shirt, tan Docker style pants, with a dark mustache.

The Janesville Police Department responded to the report of an assault on the bike trail near Main St. and Palmer Dr. A female, age 18, reported that she was tackled from behind and struck in the face by a suspect matching the above description. She had minor abrasions but did not need medical attention. The suspect was last seen running westbound from the scene. A K-9 search did not result in locating the suspect. In the event that this incident was sexually motivated offense, detectives conducted home visits of area registered sex offenders however no suspects were developed.
