JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) -- A Janesville man charged with ninth-offense drunken driving is being held on $15,000 cash bond.
Forty-seven-year-old Scott R. Ross was arrested March 3 after a vehicle accident. The felony charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
Police officer Scott Katzenmeyer testified Friday that he responded to a vehicle crash in which Ross was driving. Katzenmeyer says Ross smelled of alcohol and had glazed eyes and slurred speech.
According to The Janesville Gazette, police say Ross's history of drunken driving dates back more than 20 years.
Defense attorney Joshua Klaff tells The Associated Press that if Ross is bound over for trial at his preliminary hearing, he'll plead not guilty at his arraignment.

I wonder what his sentence was for his 8th charge. Or his 7th charge. Obviously not enough. I guess he'll have to kill someone before anything gets done, I hope it's not someone I love.
There was someone in my life who had a 2nd DUI and I left when she reported to jail. I saw her not willing to change or get the help she needed! Very sad...and the laws do not push them towards change! They simply allow it over and over again as this proves with an individual getting arrested for his NINTH DUI....wake up lawmakers!
