Police officers in Georgia are searching for a hit-and-run suspect who struck a pedestrian.

Friday morning, a police officer's dashcam captured video of a black SUV slamming into Carol Floyd, who was crossing a street in the City of Forest Park.

As the police officer tended to the hit-and-run victim, the driver fled from the scene in her SUV.

Carol Floyd says: "I mean, you hit me and just .... I'm sorry ... and you just take off." Floyd adds: "She can't be that sorry. If it was an accident, accidents happen, you know you stick around. You know, I'm not a dog."

Floyd was treated for her injuries.

Let me guess...... the driver was either on her cell or texting. I saw a girl today on Mineral Point Rd. turning onto Co "M" smoking, texting, shifting and turning the corner..... all on THE RED LIGHT. Probably a similar situation.

Omg how aweful. My prayers go out to the victim of this horrible incident. The driver had to of seen her. Hopefully the driver will get what is coming to her by law. Take care...

The lady mentioned that she isn't a dog, stick around and check on her after she was hit... Even if she was a dog, I would still try to get help. That is cruel and I don't know how the driver could justify leaving the scene.

That is amazing. Hope she's not seriously hurt, and I sure hope the driver of that vehicle is found. How is it possible to have missed her in the crosswalk? It's not like she stepped out into traffic - she was in the middle of the street when she was hit!

What the heck?! The driver of that vehicle certainly cannot say she did not see that pedestrian! I hope the courts make an example of her.
