UPDATE: Car Crash In Southern Wisconsin Kills 2, Injures 2

The passenger in the Viney vehicle who died as a result of the crash has been identified as Corey J. Becker, age 18, Monroe.

On April 18, 2010 at 10:05 PM, the Green County Sheriff Department was notified of a motor vehicle crash with injuries on County Trunk Highway CC (CTH CC), one-half mile north of Tunnel Road, in Exeter Township. Belleville Fire and EMS, New Glarus EMS and Fitch-Rona EMS responded to the scene, along with New Glarus and Belleville Police, and Sheriff’s Deputies. In addition, the Monticello Fire Department came to the scene with additional equipment and the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to assist in the investigation.

A 1998 Chrysler two-door, operated by Lucas D. Hagen, age 16, of Monroe was southbound on CTH CC. The vehicle crossed over the centerline and struck a northbound 1997 Honda two-door, operated by William R.Viney, age 18, of Belleville. Hagen was not wearing a seat belt, his airbag did deploy, and he was transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in the Hagen vehicle, Amber M. Moyer, age 19, Monroe, was wearing a seatbelt and her side air bag did deploy. Deputy Coroner Kris Hasse pronounced Moyer dead at the scene.

William Viney was wearing a seatbelt, his air bag deployed, and he was transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A male passenger, age 18, in the Viney vehicle, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. His side air bag did deploy, and he was transported to University Hospital by REACT Helicopter and later pronounced dead. The name is being withheld pending notification of family members. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene.

The motor vehicle crash is under investigation by the Green County Sheriff Department, Coroner’s office and the Wisconsin State Patrol. These are Green County’s second and third fatalities in 2010.

EXETER TOWNSHIP, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities in southern Wisconsin say a car crash killed two passengers and left both drivers hospitalized.

Green County deputies say the crash occurred Sunday about 10 p.m. near Exeter Township.

Authorities say a car driven by 16-year-old Lucas Hagen of Monroe crossed the center line. It collided with a vehicle driven by 18-year-old William Viney of Belleville.

A female passenger in Hagen's car was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger who was ejected from Viney's car also died.

Hagen and Viney were each hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

WISC-TV reports that the victims' names haven't been released.
