Madison --- It was the day before graduation for a young Arkansas teen, when she got a text message while driving. But little did anyone know, it was her last text.
"They said there has been an accident, you need to get here immediately, it's very serious," said Merry Dye.
It's a moment she will never forget and one she replays in her mind constantly.
"I was talking with the social worker, on long term care, and while trying to figure that out she had a massive stroke. It's when the doctor told us, she's deciding for you," said Dye.
After eight days in intensive care, her 18-year-old daughter Mariah passed away. Now years later she is using that story to impact others.
Mariah's tragic death is part of a national documentary called, "The Last Text."
"We show that documentary, and you hear a pin drop," said Dye.
She's traveling around Madison, Wednesday. Dye is also expected to come back to speak to schools in Wisconsin, later on this fall.
