Adams Co. deputies are warning citizens about an asphalt scam hitting the area.
It has specifically been reported in the southern part of Adams Co.
Deputies say it involves three men in their 20's or 30's. In one case a man told a woman the three had just finished paving part of Highway 82 and had asphalt leftover. They offered to put the asphalt at the end of her driveway so she could see what it would look like.
They completed about 6-feet worth of the driveway. The next day a man came back and told the homeowner she owed them $600 for the work they had done, and they could do the rest for $2500.
The man had a business card with “Y&B Construction 800-514-9532” on it, but no address.
Deputies remind people to check with contractors for references, insurance and licenses.
