RACINE, Wis. (AP) -- Police in Chicago have located the missing 2-year-old girl whose mother was found dead in their Racine home. Authorities say the child's father has been arrested.
A child abduction alert had been issued for the girl and her 25-year-old father after officers found the child's mother dead about 11 p.m. Tuesday in Racine.
Chicago police spokesman Robert Perez says the girl was found unharmed and the father was arrested at a south side residence shortly before 6 a.m. Wednesday. Perez says officers were checking the address of a relative provided by Racine police.
Racine Sgt. Marvin Pavilonis says the father is a person of interest in the death of the child's mother. He says the death of the 27-year-old mother is being investigated as a homicide.

2-year-old Iryana K. Vaughn has been found and her father, 25-year-old Iryin Vaughn, is in custody. Iryana was found in the 9800 block of Yates in Chicago.
Early Wednesday morning an Amber Alert was issued in southern Wisconsin for 2-year-old Iryana K. Vaughn. Iryana had last been seen at her home near 9th and Racine Street yesterday.
Police say the little girl was abducted by her father, 25-year-old Iryin Vaughn, and possibly headed to Illinois.
The girl’s father is wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of a 27-year-old woman believed to be Iryana’s mother.

Police believe the girl is with her father, 25-year-old Iryin Vaughn. Investigators say he left the home with the child, Iryana Vaughn, shortly before officers were called there about 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Law enforcement has issued emergency child abduction alert called an Amber Alert. Racine Sgt. Marvin Pavilonis says Vaughn is from the Chicago area and may be headed there. Pavilonis says Vaughn is a person of interest in the death of the child's mother. He says the death of the 27-year-old woman is being investigated as a homicide.
Police say the father and child may be in a 1998 blue Ford Explorer with the Illinois license plate L320-893.
