Argyle Man Sentenced For Manufacturing Marijuana

Posted Friday, January 13, 2012 --- 3:20 p.m.

Press Release:

Madison, Wis. - John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Blake Schneider, 57, Argyle, Wis., was sentenced on Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb to one year and one day in prison for manufacturing marijuana.

This prison term will be followed by four years of supervised release.

Schneider pleaded guilty to this charge on August 25, 2011.

In December 2010, officers searched Schneider's home in Argyle and found approximately 206 marijuana plants growing. Approximately 67 plants were in his home and approximately 137 plants were found in a detached garage.

A civil forfeiture complaint was also filed against Schneider's property. He paid $120,000 in lieu of the government forfeiting his home and several recreational vehicles.

The charges against Schneider were the result of an investigation conducted by the Green County Sheriff's Department and Drug Enforcement Administration. The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Altman.

Another life ruined because of the outrageous drug laws. Pot is more mild than alcohol and has killed no one. It must be legalized. It's been long proven that prohibition does not work. It's a plant for goodness sake. It's beyond me how alcohol can be legal and pot cannot.

I agree, this is crazy. Alcohol is far more dangerous than POT. Maybe people wouldn't be so angry. I have never seen anyone on POT angry, maybe a little hungry but never angry.
