Arrests made after gun pulled in Red Shed Tavern

A female victim reported to police on the street that another female had just pointed a gun at her inside the Red Shed Tavern in Madison.

Mounted officers found the armed suspect walking on Frances St. just after 2 a.m. Monday. Other officers working special duty in the Entertainment District responded to assist. The suspect then started fighting with officers. She was arrested and a handgun was recovered.

Moments later, a friend of the suspect attacked the original victim. Other officers physically intervened to stop that battery and arrest the second suspect.

A hostile crowd started forming around the officers. Additional, officers were dispatched from neighboring districts to assist with crowd management.

28 year old Laconda Williams of Madison was arrested. She was charged with 2nd degree reckless endangerment, battery to an officer, and carrying a handgun where alcohol is sold.

24 year old Asia Townsend of Sun Prairie was also arrested and charged with intimidation of a victim and battery.
