On Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 11:10 p.m., Stoughton Police dispatch received a 911 call from the Kwik Trip convenience store located at 1231 East Main Street in the City of Stoughton.
Two employees inside the store reported that the store had closed at 11 p.m. and that a male subject was attempting to break through the locked front doors as they heard loud banging.
The employees stayed near a video monitor watching the subject repeatedly attempt to break the glass doors. Stoughton Police arrived and the subject ran away and was arrested soon after a foot pursuit.
Kiyam Stepney, age 18, of Stoughton was charged with Armed Burglary, Resisting Arrest, and violating his probation. Stepney was transported to the Dane County Jail and booked in.
