UPDATED: Body found in Mill Pond identified

UPDATED Tuesday July 29, 2014 --- 5:34 p.m.

Lake Mills Police Department says the investigation is still ongoing.

The medical examiner has completed their end of the autopsy, they're waiting on toxicology results.

Lake Mills Police Department Chief Pat Matuszewski says those results will be "real telling" when it comes to ruling out foul play.

Police say a family walking along the Mill Pond near Bartel's Beach discovered the body. As they were picnicking, they saw what looked like a body in the water and called police.

Police believe he may have been there for a while.

"If you're familiar with that area the mill pond, it's full of foliage with swamp grass and lily pads. It's not unusual for the body to have been there for a little bit of time before someone had seen it. It's just so vegetated in that area," said Chief Matuszewski.

NBC 15 spoke to a former classmate of Droster's.

He said Droster moved to Lake Mills for his senior year of high school.

The classmate says about halfway through the year he believed Droster dropped out of school, and he'd see Droster walking up and down main street often.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Lake Mills Police at (920) 648-2354.
